With the latest update to iWork, Pages now supports exporting to .ePub for viewing in iBooks. This great news for iPad owners that want to read their work in iBooks using the great page turn features.
And for those that didn’t already know, iBooks supports photos and videos. One of our employees tested this out today by creating a document in Pages that included a photo and video. He then simply chose File -> Export and selected ePub.
I dropped the file in my iTunes and synced my iPad. Below is the video showing you how it looks in iBooks on an iPad. (Sorry for the shaky cam, I shot the video one handed with my iPhone 4.)
Here’s a sample document from Apple that not only give your some best practices for exporting as ePub, but you can use as a template to create your own properly formatted ePub document. [ ePub Best Practices ]
Side Note: The video was shot on an iPhone 4, edited with ReelDirector ($3.99), and uploaded in full 720 with 720tube (free).
